April 2010 CLT conducted an analysis of the commercial potential of Intellectual Property for the technology transfer office at the University of Manchester. This involved interviewing some 25 academic staff and creating an inventory of the potential commercial opportunities from their research. The top three opportunities will be progressed with a one day workshop

March 2010 CLT was appointed as an approved supplier of strategic consultancy services to the Carbon Trust. This contract will allow us to deepen our relationship with the Carbon Trust for whom we already act as a provider of incubator services for SME’s.

July 2009 CLT was appointed as an Incubator partner for The Carbon Trust’s incubator scheme. Businesses and projects accepted into the Carbon Trust scheme receive up to £70k of commercialisation support services funded by the Carbon Trust and delivered by the experienced CLT partners. This support typically includes.

• help with business and financial plan development,
• market investigations and analysis, including route to market assessment
• Competitive analysis
• mentoring the team,
• product development advice,
• IP guidance, including landscape mapping.
• preparation for investor rounds and raising investment capital.

2008 and 2009 CLT provided support to SME and University spin out companies seeking to raise grant funding on two calls for Carbon Trust Applied Research programmes. The support provided was focussed on helping the companies to refine and articulate the commercialisation potential for their technologies in the Low Carbon marketplace as a part of the application process
