About us

Founded in 2006, CLT is a specialist consultancy that works with entrepreneurs, industry and government to help clean tech businesses succeed and accelerate low carbon technologies to market.  We work with companies innovating across the Renewables, Energy Networks, Buildings, DSR, Transport, Industry, CCUS, and Waste & Water sectors. We have been the delivery partner for government programmes to overcome challenges to grow and finance the green economy, including delivery of national and regional cleantech accelerators and programmes to support decarbonisation of industry. CLT has recently been expanding its international presence, delivering work in Brazil, Mexico and India as well as being selected as the official innovation partner for the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. We have also delivered a multimillion-pound energy innovation programme in Latin America.

CLT works closely with the Clean Growth Fund, a £100 million venture capital fund that invests in early stage, disruptive cleantech innovative, high growth companies. CGF and CLT share an office and CLT provides support to CGF including pipeline, techno-market due diligence and support to portfolio companies.

About the role

CLT has a small core team and is able to offer you the opportunity to get involved with some of our major projects. This role gives you exposure to the new technologies being developed and experience working with cleantech innovative technologies and SMEs, placing you at the cutting edge of science, technology, policy, and financing. You will have an opportunity to make a difference by supporting the commercialisation of these technologies and thereby contribute to the energy transition. 

It is envisaged that you will:

• Support or lead acceleration tasks for cleantech SMEs
• Support or lead consultancy projects for public and private sector clients
• Support the international innovation programme(s)
• Assist the Clean Growth Fund with landscape maps and support the portfolio companies
• Have the right to work in the UK

Requirements

We are open to applicants who are in a graduate course or above and have some previous work-experience in a relevant field.

Alongside being a team player with a can-do attitude, at a minimum we expect you to:

• Have a demonstrated passion for sustainability and clean technology
• Have a good bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
• Be fluent in spoken and written English, with strong writing and synthesis skills
• Have excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Have experience conducting primary and/or secondary research
• Be proficient in the main Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) including building models in Excel
• Be proactive and willing to get involved in the variety of activities CLT has to offer

It is desirable for you to:

• Have experience working with clean technology and/or innovation
• Have experience of decarbonisation projects if you are a more experienced applicant
• Have experience of consulting projects if you are a more experienced applicant
